Plano

Online Therapy for Plano

Plano can run on high expectations: corporate careers, competitive schools and packed family calendars. Online counseling gives you, or your teen, a private hour without one more drive.

Families Who Moved for Work

Corporate campuses have drawn families to Plano from across the country, which means many households here are a long way from grandparents, cousins and old friends. The house is nice and the schools are strong, but the support system that used to catch you when things got hard may be a plane ride away.

That distance can leave parents carrying everything alone. Counseling can be part of rebuilding support, starting with an hour that is just yours.

Teens Under Pressure

Plano's schools are known for being demanding, and with that can come intense pressure: advanced classes, college admissions and activities stacked into every evening. Some teens thrive on it. Others quietly struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, lost sleep or a sense that nothing they do is enough.

Counseling can give a teen a private place to talk about that pressure. My pages on therapy for teens in Texas and anxiety therapy for teens explain how I work with teenagers and their parents.

Parents Running Everyone's Calendar

If you are the parent coordinating practices, tutoring, work deadlines and dinner, you may be running on fumes while everyone assumes you have it handled. The mental load is real, and it tends to go unnoticed precisely because you are so good at carrying it. My page for overwhelmed mothers speaks to that directly.

High expectations can push you forward. They can also wear you down. Both deserve to be talked about.

The Commute and the Corporate Grind

Between the Dallas North Tollway, US-75 and long days on a corporate campus, the workweek can leave little room for anything else. Burnout builds quietly in a high-pressure job, especially when slowing down does not feel like an option. Stress and burnout work starts by looking at your real week and finding the first change that would help.

Students at Collin College, juggling classes with work, can meet by video too, from a parked car or a quiet room at home.

Starting Over Near Legacy West

Plenty of young professionals land in Plano because an employer moved them here, sometimes to an apartment near Legacy West with a great view and nobody to call. Work fills the week, weekends feel quiet, and the excitement of a new job can sit right next to loneliness.

If that sounds familiar, counseling can help with the anxiety and isolation that often come with a big move, and with building a life here that is about more than work.

How We Can Work Together

The concerns I help with include anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationships, grief, transitions and burnout. Sessions combine cognitive behavioral therapy, a client-centered approach and solution-focused planning. Christian counseling is available if you want it.

There is no Plano office; the practice is fully online, and sessions require you to be in Texas. Neighbors in Dallas meet the same way, and online therapy anywhere in Texas covers the details statewide.

Common Questions

My teen is doing well in school but seems anxious. Should I worry?
Strong grades do not always mean a teen is okay. If you notice trouble sleeping, constant worry, perfectionism or pulling back from friends, it is worth a conversation. A free consultation is a low-pressure way to talk it through, and my guide on helping a teen who will not talk about anxiety has ideas for home.
Do you work with teens who struggle with focus?
Yes. Counseling is not a diagnostic evaluation, but I work with teens on focus, follow-through and the frustration that comes with both. My ADHD support page explains how I approach it with teens and their parents.
Do you work with parents as well as teens?
Yes. I work with adults and teens in individual counseling. If you are not sure whether it makes more sense for you or your teen to start, ask on the free consultation and we can think it through together.
Can I use my workplace insurance?
Not directly. I do not bill any insurance. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, a superbill is available on request for you to file on your own. See rates for how payment works.
