Across Texas
Online Therapy Anywhere in Texas
Texas is huge, and good counseling should not depend on how far you live from an office. I work entirely by secure video, with anyone located anywhere in the state.

One Counselor, Anywhere in Texas
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas (license #74105), and my practice is fully online. That means anyone physically located in Texas can work with me, whether you live in a big city, a small town, a suburb or a college campus. There is no office to drive to, no waiting room and no parking.
In a state this size, that matters. A long drive each way can turn a fifty-minute session into half a day. Telehealth gives that time back, and it removes the childcare problem that keeps a lot of parents from starting at all.
The Texas Location Rule
Counseling licenses are state by state, and a counselor can only work with clients who are located in a state where they are licensed. I am licensed in Texas, so you need to be physically in Texas during each session. Where you are sitting when we meet matters more than the address on your license.
If you travel out of state, sessions pause until you are back. If you live in another state, I am not able to be your counselor, but a directory such as Psychology Today or Open Path Collective can help you find someone licensed where you are.
How Online Sessions Work
The practical side is simple. My guide on how online therapy works covers setup in more detail.
- Fifty-minute individual sessions by secure video.
- Scheduling, paperwork, invoices and secure messaging in one SimplePractice portal.
- Meet from home, a parked car, or a quiet room on campus or at work.
- Self-pay, with the session fee confirmed on your free consultation.
- Usually weekly at first, then spaced out as things settle.

Good counseling should not depend on your zip code. If you are in Texas, we can meet.
Pages for Texas Cities
Life in Houston is not the same as life in Lubbock or El Paso, so I have written about what online counseling can look like in different parts of the state:

Small Towns and Rural Texas
If you live in a small town, finding a counselor nearby can be hard, and privacy can feel thin when everyone knows everyone. Online sessions from your own home mean nobody sees your car in a counselor's parking lot. All you need is a private space, a device with a camera and a steady connection.
What I Help With
Wherever you are in Texas, the work is the same: depression, which is the primary focus of my practice, along with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relationships and boundaries, grief, life transitions, and stress and burnout. I have a specific passion for teenagers, college students and overwhelmed mothers, and Christian counseling is available for anyone who asks for it.
My approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy, client-centered care and solution-focused work, with honest feedback throughout. You can read more on the services page.
Common Questions
- Do I have to live in Texas?
- You need to be physically located in Texas during each session. That includes people who live here and students attending school here. If you are outside Texas at the time of a session, we would need to reschedule for when you are back.
- Is online therapy as good as meeting in person?
- For most of the work I do, video sessions work well, and they remove barriers like travel and childcare that can make in-person care hard to keep up. If I ever think a higher level of care or an in-person service would serve you better, I will tell you.
- What do I need for a session?
- A private space, a phone or computer with a camera and microphone, and a steady internet connection. Headphones help with privacy. You will get a secure link through the SimplePractice portal before your first session.
- How do I get started?
- Request a free consultation, about fifteen minutes by phone or video. Online booking opens shortly; until then, use the message form on Work With Me, and I usually reply with times within one to two business days.
