Online Therapy for Houston

In Houston, a cross-town appointment can swallow an afternoon. Online counseling lets you meet from home, a parked car or a quiet room at work, with no freeway involved.

When the Drive Is Part of the Problem

If you live in Houston, you already know how much of life happens on the road. Getting from Katy to the Medical Center, or from The Woodlands to downtown, can take longer than an appointment itself. When counseling means an hour on I-10, I-45 or the 610 Loop each way, it is easy to keep putting it off.

Telehealth takes the commute out of the equation. Sessions are fifty minutes by secure video, so the time you spend is the time you spend talking.

Long Shifts and Unpredictable Schedules

Houston runs on demanding work: hospital shifts in the Texas Medical Center, the energy industry, the port, and long days in offices all over the city. If your schedule is irregular or your shifts run long, fitting in a weekly appointment can feel impossible.

Meeting by video can make it more manageable. You can join from a quiet room before or after work, or from your car in a parking garage, as long as you have privacy. We can talk about which times are realistic on your free consultation.

When Storms Leave a Long Tail

Hurricane season is part of the Houston calendar, and for many families the memory of flooding is never far away. After Harvey in 2017, plenty of people rebuilt their homes and kept going without ever talking about what it cost them. Years later, heavy rain or a storm forecast can still bring a tight chest or a sleepless night.

That kind of stress is real, and it deserves care. In trauma work, we go at your pace: building stability first, then working with what happened when you are ready. Worry that spikes with the weather can also be worked on directly with practical anxiety tools.

The best appointment is the one you can actually keep. In Houston, that often means one with no commute.

Students and Young Adults in Houston

Whether you study at the University of Houston, Rice, Texas Southern or a community college, college can bring independence, pressure and a lot of new stress at once. Online sessions fit around classes and work, from a dorm room or a parked car. My page on therapy for college students has more.

Young adults building careers in a big city face their own pressures: high costs, long hours and a social life scattered across a huge metro. You do not have to wait until things fall apart to talk about it.

Caring for Someone in Treatment

The Texas Medical Center draws patients from across the region, and behind every patient there is usually someone driving to appointments, sitting in waiting rooms and holding the rest of the family together. If that is you, your own needs have probably slid to the bottom of the list.

Caregiver stress is real. It can look like exhaustion, irritability, guilt about feeling resentful, or grief that starts long before a loss. Video sessions can fit around a treatment schedule, from home or from a parked car between appointments.

What Counseling Can Help With Here

Whatever corner of Houston you live in, the concerns I work with are the ones that follow people home from the freeway: depression, anxiety, storm-related stress, caregiver strain, ADHD, relationship struggles, grief and burnout. The approach is practical, built on cognitive behavioral therapy and a client-centered stance, and faith comes into it only if you ask.

My practice has no physical office in Houston or anywhere else. We meet by secure video, and you need to be in Texas for each session. The statewide picture is on my page about online therapy anywhere in Texas.

Common Questions

Do you have an office in Houston?
No. My practice is fully online, so there is no office anywhere. Sessions happen by secure video from wherever you are in Texas, which means no drive, no parking and no waiting room.
Can I have sessions from my car?
Yes, as long as you are parked, it is private, and you have a steady connection. For a lot of busy people, a parked car is the most private room available. Please do not drive during a session.
Can you help with anxiety about hurricanes or flooding?
Yes. Storm-related anxiety and lingering stress from past floods are real, and they can be worked on with practical coping strategies and, where needed, paced trauma work. We start with whatever feels most pressing to you.
